REDLEAF WOLLOMBI Wedding | ANNA & FYNN | HUNTER VALLEY Wedding Photographer

A relaxed autumn wedding at Redleaf Wollombi featuring a lavender garden ceremony, golden sunset portraits and an effortless celebration shared entirely with family and friends

Anna and Fynn's April wedding perfectly captured everything I love about photographing at Redleaf Wollombi. With every part of the celebration taking place on the property, the day never felt rushed. Instead, it unfolded naturally, allowing them to spend more time with their favourite people while creating photographs that felt effortless and genuine.

One of the things that made this wedding feel so different was the relaxed approach to the morning. Rather than following a strict timeline, Bonnie Lass Films and I floated between Anna and Fynn as they got ready in different areas of the house. It allowed us to document the morning as it happened, capturing conversations, quiet moments, laughter and anticipation without interrupting the natural rhythm of the day. It's one of my favourite ways to photograph wedding mornings because nothing feels staged. The story unfolds naturally while everyone remains present.

Redleaf Wollombi offers several incredible ceremony locations, but the lavender garden is one of the property's most memorable. Instead of approaching from the traditional direction, Anna walked along the tree-lined entrance from behind before making her way down the aisle, creating a beautiful and unexpected entrance that perfectly framed the ceremony.

One of the biggest priorities for Anna and Fynn was spending as much time as possible with their guests, something I hear time and time again is a priority for most of my couples. Instead of disappearing for an hour after the ceremony, we kept portraits short and intentional. On the walk to their private signing, we spent ten minutes photographing the bridal before heading straight to cocktail hour, spending the entire afternoon celebrating with family and friends. It's a timeline I often recommend because couples end up with beautiful photographs while still experiencing every part of their wedding day. Rather than waiting until reception, Anna and Fynn chose to hold the first half of their speeches during cocktail hour, creating a relaxed atmosphere where guests could mingle, enjoy drinks and hear heartfelt stories before the evening celebrations began. Gary on a Sax performed throughout the afternoon while Pepis Catering created live food stations that became a talking point among guests.

Before entering reception, Anna changed into her second dress and as the sun began to set we slipped away for another quick ten minute portrait session. The soft golden light, surrounding gardens and peaceful atmosphere created some of my favourite images from the entire day. Keeping portrait sessions short meant they never felt like they were missing their wedding. Instead, each session became a chance to pause together before heading back to celebrate.

Upon entering the Marquee and finishing off their speeches Anna and Fynn celebrated well into the evening, a day no one will ever forget. Anna and Fynn's wedding was a perfect example of how a relaxed timeline, thoughtful planning and trusting your creative team can create photographs that feel timeless while still allowing you to experience every moment of your wedding.
